Darker than Amber (1970)
#1
This was allegedly the film by director Robert Clouse that inspired Bruce Lee to work with him on Enter the Dragon. It’s terrible. But an uber Bruce fan recommended it to me because you can see some elements that went into EtD, and he was right. Rod Taylor plays Robby McGee, a private detective of sorts who rescues a woman tossed off a bridge tied to a weigh to sleep with the fishes. Anna Capri is in it, who also stars as the one white woman on Han’s island. DTA is known for its end fight, which was brutal and bloody for its day, but I can imagine why it mightve appealed to Bruce. There’s a grittiness to it that feels authentic. Also, some to the cinematography and use of music is echoed in EtD, right down to Capri’s final scene.

It took me several nights to slog thru. I’d watch about 15 mins and lose interest, flipping back to vids LD Alysa Liu.

Seen on YouTube. Not D00M recommended at all.
