Cinequest opted not to wait until Friday to show they weren't interested.

Thank you so much for your patience as we finish putting the Cinequest program together. This has been an incredibly difficult year, with so many amazing submissions and almost 5,000 submissions.
We are very sad to say Iron Crotch was not selected to participate in the upcoming Cinequest Film & VR Festival. As festival programmers, this is the part of the process that is incredibly painful for our entire team.
We want to thank you for introducing us to your work and sharing your voice with us through your art. Unfortunately, as with every year, the challenge is having too many great projects and not enough space, and with the incredible quality of the submissions, we were faced with the pain of knowing we were not going to be able to place in everything we wanted to have as part of the program.
When we review submissions, we take into account many factors in addition to quality; such as overall mix, audience relevancy, and how effective we can be in helping the artist's projects. And to be effective for every artist, it is just not possible to select every work we love. Yes, we are turning away a lot of great and highly creative work. In fact, we saw enough amazing work to program three festivals.
We do hope we can talk in the future about other projects on which you will be working. Thank you again.
Best Wishes,
The Programming Team
