I don’t know that I agree, but it’s interesting that the original choreo ended up a few minutes too short and so they studied all the bbest swordfights for inspiration.

This video is a joy to watch. Cary Elwes and Mandy Patinkin discuss how that incredible sword fight, where neither was actually left-handed, came to be.
The swordfight between Inigo Montoya and the Dread Pirate Roberts in The Princess Bride remains, somehow, the best sword fight ever filmed. Both Elwes and Patinkin were untrained at sword fighting when production began.
They didn't fake greatness. They practiced until they earned it.
