there's no solid door, just a sliding glass door. i could handle a solid door myself. done that before. it's one of the funky things about our house. there's only two potential wall spaces and they're both near outlets. would it be more prudent for us to just hire a real contractor? if only we had some money lying around that didn't get stolen...
