Mercury in Retrograde

I had one notable task today - bring the monthly check for my mom's care center. I wrote it out and thought I put it in my wallet, but when I got ther, it was not to be found. I remember pulling out some extra business cards (I stocked up for SDCC and then wound up not giving any out). Perhaps I pulled the check out too. It was embarrassing because I thought I was focused. I can bring it next week - my mom's care center is very forgiving that way. It's not like we can skip out of paying. Nevertheless I am disappointed with myself here, and blaming merc, because that's the whole point of merc-n-ret - it gives somewhere to place blame.

I don't know what happened to that check. I *know* I wrote it out but I just got back to our bungalow, and it's nowhere to be found. I never lose big checks. My mom kinda freaked out when it happened. She's super paranoid about money and put those fears into me. Fortunately, she's easy to distract away from such conniptions. 

It's going to drive me nuts until I find that check. Feckin Merc.
