The interesting thing about this project is that the filmmakers are not the Cobra Kai show runners. In an interview with. me, they once said that Jackie exists in the Cobra Kai universe (aka the Miyagi-verse) but Mr. Han does not. In our most recent interview, they were very diplomatic about this film. There were some smirks and raised eyebrows when I broached the question, but I prefaced that with "If you don't want to answer this, we can skip it" or something along those lines and one of the show runners stepped forward to take it on. 

I'm hoping I get a shot at interviewing the KK:L makers. 

Note that Will Smith banked both the KK redux with his kid Jaden, and Cobra Kai.
