"The NetFlix Syndrome". I invented this term.
It reflects the established paradigm that one cannot consume culture at the rate that it is produced. Individuals must prioritize and 'queue' media as they see fit. This leads to time-delayed media absorption and the reason I saw 'X3' for the first time a couple weeks ago.
I also just read the first 'Wheel of Time' book while camping in Butano State Park last week.
It was a fun read, but the Tolkien 'homage' was almost painful in spots; "Mount Dhoom"? Mount fucking "Dhoom"? Wigga, Please!
Still - I bought the next 5 books in anticipation of the 2008 Election antidote (I watch way too much Keith Olberman).
Anyway - Don't look for any book reviews from me for a while. My shelf has "The Audacity of Hope". "The Kite Runner" and a stack of "Wheel of Time" to keep me busy for a while.
