The Regency was on the Rock Med roster for a few years. I saw Die Antwoord and Wu-Tang there, along with a few others. Search 'Regency' on this here forum for more.
As a RM venue, it was fun. There was a Japanese restaurant across the street that I liked to hit up before the shows. The venue was easy access. I was a tad sad when RM let go of it.
As a spectator venue, I'm inclined to agree with tg. It's a box and not an acoustically good one. Personally, I wouldn't pay to go there, but I'm spoiled by my karma work and won't pay for a lot of stuff unless it's hella cheap or classical or local.
If I go to a show on Oct 25, it'd be JRAD at the Fox in Oakland. But there's a slim chance that I might go to Houston for a National Shaolin Games.
Or I might just sit on my arse at home...
