Jim Jarmusch's Zombie flick from 2019. Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Tom Waits, Steve Buscemi.
Typical Jarmusch pacing. Polar fracking has affected the earth's rotation, ergo bad things happen. The dead are reanimated. There are some silly exchanges. Tom Waits is "that guy that lives in the woods" and observes are the goings on. For the most part, the film is very aware of all the zombie movie tropes, and is meta at times. I was surprised Murray's character didn't reference Murray's appearance in Zombieland or Tilda's appearance in that vampire movie.
Tilda is the town's new katana wielding, Scottish mortician. She's prepping the bodies of 2 golfers that were struck by lightning (a Caddyshack reference?), so there's some sword action.
But for the most part, the movie is a bit flat.
Kinda doom recommended, but not highly...
