I'm more broken than you

Went down the hearing aid rabbit hole with my mom. That got ridiculously expensive, so much so that she was afraid to wear them because she worried she'd lose them, which defeated the purpose. She has a pair now and they barely help. 

My hearing is trashed. So many concerts and explosions (firecrackers whilst lion dancing). I do have a pair of custom fit plugs but I don't use them enough.

Part of it is that I've stopped listening to a lot. So much noise.
