Echo (2024)
#10
I’m 4 eps deep on first binge. Enjoying it. That first fight sequence was insane - a complex single shot with very clever weaves and stitches. That kept me interested. The successive action and story has been petering but I admire the representation. Just as Iman is perfect for Ms Marvel, Alaqua nails Maya. She a deaf amputee native irl. Like how many of those are there that might carry this role? I like its native focus but I’m refraining from endorsement until I consult my native friends. The culture seems well represented but far be it from me to claim much knowledge of that culture.

The weirdest this is the stitch doc in ep 1. She is exactly like a doctor friend - someone who just broke from JAH med, which is a shame because she is dear to me, but it was complex SoHum politics or just emerald triangle crazies. Idk. Anyway I need to check with some others to see if they agree.

I’ll watch the final ep soon and reserve the right to pass judgement then. I really should’ve been working instead of watching this tonight…
