JLaw is asked to deflower Ferris Bueller’s son in exchange for a car. She’s a struggling hawt mess in a gentrifying beach community. It’s very JLaw. She vamps it up trying to seduce this kid and various pratfalls intervene. Then a real friendship emerges. Then the reveal and the kid is heartbroken. Then JLaw does some acting. Then the resolution, which is happy. Pretty cliche.
What worked: JLaw is still watchable even when she’s playing a buffoon. A buffoon babe. I did lol at her cleaning off some, well let’s say secretions with a stuffed animal. I giggled at another bit but I don’t remember what it was now. There’s a cool dog. And there’s a nekkid beach fight.
What fails: there is no way a straight virgin 19 year old male could resist JLaw in full vamp mode. She does a caricature seduction, more of a gag, but still.
Not D00M recommended unless you want to see a fully nekkid JLaw throw down in a beach fight, and I’d understand that. The scene is relatively early in the film so you can just fast forward to the fight scene.
