The musical ep
The Enterprise investigates a warped space anomaly that has potential as an intergalactic communication network. Spock and Uhura beam a showtune song through it, and somehow it creates a strange pulse that makes everyone sing. It infects the fleet, as well as neighboring Klingon Empire.
Ok, that sounds dumb but bless SNW, they pull it off. It’s so absurd but as it turns out, this cast can sing - and sing well. The songs are in a showtune style, which requires some serious pipes, and the cast delivers. It’s funny, especially the Klingons. And it’s got some depth, providing some emotional reveals into several of the characters.
I really didn’t think I was going to like this. It just wasn’t logical. But the reveals were good and this cast is amazing.
I wouldn’t start with this ep. It only works if you know the characters because it adds depth to some of them.
