Poker Face (Peacock)
#2
So we finished this...I forgot when I wrote the above that one of the "people that get killed" is the casino owner's son who blackmailed her into using her superpower to do a con the first place, and that episode ends with his death and the casino owner's threat that he will hunt her down. This sets the big arc of her being on the run which is mostly forgotten during the season. The season ends by remembering there was an arc and trying to close that thread. There's an unexpected twist, some resolutions, and a potential set up for a new season.

I get it now that this whole show is just a homage to 70's PI shows like Rockford, Columbo, etc...what happens in each episode is the story. The opening titles are a throwback as are the celebrity guest appearances - there are quite a few: Gordon Levitt Smith, Tim Meadows,Stephanie Hsu,  and some folks you may not have seen in awhile: Nick Nolte, Ellen Barkin. There was even a real short cameo with Sean Ono Lennon. He says one line in passing and that's it. Some of the episodes' writing is better than others, but they do change up the formula a little with each which is nice.

Not recommended, but not not recommended. Pretty good filler while you are waiting for new releases eg: Black Mirror season 6...
