Took my mom to the 80th anniversary event at Paul & Eddie's Monta Vista Inn. The Cupertino Historical Society organized it and a former Cupertino Mayor presented a proclamation. A third gen gal from the Paul & Eddie fam accepted it and made a quick speech. Lots of really old folks from the area. I was hoping my mom would recognize/talk with some, but she didn't know any of them. It cost us $20 each and we got a drink and a selection of cut vegetables, cheese, salami and crackers.
There were a few photo albums which my mom perused, but it was a bit of a nothing burger. The CHS was supposed to be having a meeting, but they said it was too noisy.
I was also trying to train my mom to use ride hailing apps. I set her up with the Cupertino local service, Via, but after May 5, they rebranded as Silicon Valley Hopper which meant getting a new app and setting that up. The old app wasn't working anymore and I couldn't get the new one working either, so I had to call the service...but we got a ride scheduled and the pickup mostly worked. The service stops at 7pm on weekdays, so when we were done, I had her schedule a ride home with Lyft. That was mostly painless.
mixed outing, but progress?

PS: that's only the 3rd time I've ever been in P&E
