It had one device that I’ve seen before and am on the fence about. Kill (or Gil) visualizes outcomes of fights before they happen. So some fights start and end with her dying, and then there’s a rewind to the beginning of the fight where she chooses a different path to avoid said outcome. It does provide extra to the fights, but it’s like the dream sequence that just kinda wastes time too, or the awkward deus ex machina that resolves something after the writers paint themselves into a corner. However, this film takes this concept to an extreme which I appreciated.
