Seen. That was very satisfying. Think Ms Marvel but instead of a superhero, it’s a punk band. The final 2 eps were predictable, and yet well actualized.
The finale opens with the lead protag Amina delivering an edgy version of Creep, demonstrating that she really can sing. She’s played by Anjana Vasan, who carries most of the show with a very impressive performance. Overall, the cast is solid and refreshing, deftly navigating between funny and heartfelt. The ending was glaringly predictable but I still found myself smiling at its sweetness.
Strangely enough, I shall D00M recommend this despite it being way out of our usual sandbox. Now I’m super eager for Polite Society and I hope I get that interview with director Nida Manzoor.
