Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions (2020)
#1
During the pandemic, Taylor Swift contacted Aaron Dessner (of the National) and Jack Antonoff to collaborate on an album. They deliver Folklore, a critically acclaimed acoustic album that didn’t revive that much airplay except Cardigan (which is part of a trilogy of songs in this album - the others are Betty and August). This doc, which is written & directed by Taylor, brings the 3 musicians to a remote studio to perform the album together for the first time.

The doc follows the album, track for track. What grabbed me most beyond the intimate performances, the musicians discussing the writing process. Taylor is penetratingly introspective and reveals some secrets, whilst keeping her secrets, like she always does.

Not D00M recommended. Don’t judge me.
