The Sound of 007 (2022)
#1
I was using this film as a palatte cleanser while watching RRR. Sadly, the film is a bit meh. The majority of the film is devoted to John Barry and Billy Eilish. I understand John Barry because his scores and songs are the templates for everything after. Billy and Fineas (her brother and co-producer) are there to talk about their song and to push No Time Left to Die. At least that's how interpreted it. Fair play to them. But I did get the idea I was seeing an ad rather than a documentary.

There are a lot of good bits. Lots of good trivia questions. But it just didn't grab me.

They did spotlight a lot of theme songs, but not all. Maybe this is one of the problems. They spent ten minutes with Billy. They spent about 10 seconds on Paul McCartney. Although his bit was funny because the producers were trying to come up with who would sing McCartney's song for the soundtrack.  The most egregious omission in my mind is they never mentioned Chris Cornell and my favorite Bond song "You Know My Name" Love that song.

It might have been better if they had just played all the theme songs back to back.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
