Saw it, too. Enjoyed it, but it was a little slow/somber. There's a montage bit that feels like a throwback to Up!...so much melancholy...I watched the BTS on Disney+ and they talked about how this was made during Covid where everyone was struggling with isolation, separation, and work/life balance. If I were a kid watching this, I don't know if I would be filled with desire for a Buzz action doll, but I first saw Silent Running, another melancholy movie, when I was about 10 and it became my favorite movie up until Star Wars came out, so who knows...
The cat was fun. I didn't mind/notice the lack of Tim Allen. I liked the light-machetes. I didn't see the twist coming, so that was nice, too.
