Acetaminophen is good for pain, but not for inflammation. The Ibuprofen anti-inflamm dose is 800mg every 8 hours. I used to do 1000mg in the old days, but was corrected by a couple of physicians. I still like acetaminophen for headaches & fever. I still sneak in ibuprofen when my knees are particularly bad, though I'm not s'posed to.
