Preparatory Sadness
I belong to a group on Facebook called Yosemite History. The group discusses the history of the park through people sharing pictures and stories about the park. More accurately a gentleman by the name of Eldon Grupp shares pieces of his immense collection with us and tells stories about the pieces and how they relate to Yosemite. Most of the stories end with this is the only piece I know that exists. I've asked him a bunch of questions and he has been knowledgeable about all of them. He owns complete sets of all the early photographers in the park like Weed, Watkins, Muybridge and others. I believe he grew up in the park or at least visited there a lot.
Yesterday, somebody asked Mr. Grupp if there was a way people could visit his vast collection. Mr. Grupp said no, due to the fact that he is 87 and is currently undergoing chemotherapy for multiple myelomas.
Like I said, preparatory sadness.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
