Oscar contender.
Sorkin remains a solid storyteller. The interweaving arcs are engaging throughout. It's beautifully executed on many levels (there's even a nice one-er).
Bardem and JK Rowlings nail Arnez and Frawley despite looking nothing like them. They adopt their mannerisms, their posture, their essence - it's solid acting, not just impersonation. Arianda misses with Vance. Her chemistry is good, particularly with Frawley, but it's a miss.
Then there's dear Nicole. She kills it. She vanishes into the role, only peeking out just enough to remind you it's indeed Nicole. She captures Lucy's spirit both on screen and off, nailing her voice and attitude, and the replays of the classic bits are entirely convincing. Brava!
