E4: Again I concur with Greg’s appraisal above but I have not read the books and don’t feel like I’m missing much. Yeah the clans are color coded. That’s nothing new. Yeah the evil dagger from the evil city where they weren’t supposed to touch anything - yeah right - that’s evil - I don’t need the book backstory to get the gist of that.
This Ep had more of the Professor (he was only teased in the last scene of the previous Ep) and this role isn’t giving Morte much latitude. So far, the False Dragon is a menacing wielder of dementor smoke, no where near the complexity of the Professor. And now that the sun has arrived, is that done? I dunno. Seemed pivotal but then again maybe not.
It’s no GoT. It’s closer to Shannara. And I read Shannara but don’t remember a thing about it. I tried to watch some because it was the same showrunners as Into the Badlands, but it sucked. Wheel of Time doesn’t suck. But it’s no GoT. Not by a long shot.
