The FBI need to talk to her in relation to her former husband. She hasn't really spoken to him much since she escaped from his clutches twelve years ago. He was an accountant during their marriage. And now it seems the FBI is really interested in talking to him and to people who know him. I don't know how much Roberta can help since she'd rather stick needles in her eyes than talk to him, but the FBI and the Government have their ways.
He's a little bit hard to track down now as he's in Africa. Roberta has been able to contact him by email but she's still in the dark about what's going on. Nobody wants to tell her.
They do want her to go to New York and testify. That's the gist of the subpoena. But for a teacher there couldn't be a worse time for her to leave school. School ends in two weeks. She kept asking the FBI guys if she really had to go.
