Damn you, DM! Double Damn you for good measure.
As soon I recognized the Grateful Dead tune in S1Ep7, I just shook my head. I paused the episode and took your name in vain multiple times. tQ looked at me questioningly. I just said the goddamn Grateful Dead. It took her a second to realize the connection but when she did her head just dropped forward onto her chest. There had be better more to this episode than just a Grateful Dead tune to recommend it. There was. There was two Dead tunes. And some banter about the band itself. Fucking hell.
But first S1Ep6. Not a great episode either. How do you run and catch up to a train going full speed? Even if the train is a crappy looking CGI train running through a poorly rendered CGI landscape? I'm going to say no. And yet here we are on the train. And then how are you surprised there are people on the train? And how do you expect to hide from those people. And Gus is really starting to piss me off. Why is he in charge again except force of will. And everything he does jeopardizes the rest of the party. Oh, great Gus has run off again and we are going to follow him into danger. And how does a battery operated radio continue to work after ten years? Why would you plants invade your house and not cut them back? I might be getting my episodes confused at this point. We watched the final three in one push because I was reliably (not reliably as it turned out) informed Ep7 was going to be memorable. Which I foolishly took to mean as good. My bad. That's on me.
Although, S1Ep7 was better than the other episodes. It was nice to see the backstory of so many characters and how everything went to hell. It was good to see more about the Big Man and the Doctor. I need some history on the General, though. Where does he come from? And why is he so cartoonish? And why do his followers follow this cartoon General?
And could someone show the Art Department what the area around Yellowstone looks like? Because it doesn't look like what they are showing.
So, Ep7 was better but not substantially so.
S1Ep8 ends on a huge cliffhanger. And guess what? I don't care. Gus deserves what he gets. All the mistakes are on his shoulders.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
