Well, it's been a month since the right hip replacement. I've been using a cane the last couple weeks. I keep thinking I'm about to leave it behind but nope. Amazing how it supplements the stride with just the lightest touch, and yet without it, the stride goes bonkers.
Instinctively when I have to carry something, I put it in my left hand. That instinct is always wrong. The left hand needs the cane. But I keep making it. It's like Sharon Stone crossing her legs the wrong way. You'd think I'd learn.
The left hip is scheduled for June 18. Yeah, doesn't give me much time. But I want to get this over with. This Spring and Summer are shot, unfortunately. Then again, last year's Spring and Summer were shot by the virus, and this one mostly too, for everyone.
I hear that it takes 3 months for the bone/artificial stuff to mend. That's when you can resume most regular activities. It'll take a year for all to heal to full strength, normally.
LCF hurt her back a couple days ago. The usual mistake. She saw grownups with a litte girl who wanted a drink at a drinking fountain. The low drink was broken, and the grownups weren't strong enough to lift her up. So LCF volunteered. It turned out to require a very inadvisable pose. She came home pretty much out of commission. So I had to get my own beer. [That last bit is a joke. I haven't drank beer in a long while.]
