This is a major WB release so I'm involved with another press junket on the level of what I did for Cobra Kai.
I told the reps of my preview fail (it was supposed to be the first 15 mins of the film) but I am still in the game. They acknowledged my 'pivot' gratefully. I have a round table interview with the Director and Producer on Monday.
The Badlands angle is that the lead is Lewis Tan, who I had dinner with in Dublin. He was extremely cocky but we kept up a dialog online, and he was obliging for the oft quoted 'Shatterstar' interview for Deadpool 2 (we figured we had an easy in and fell victim to the brunt of that joke). When I went to dinner with Daniel Wu, he gave me another earful about Lewis, which was confirming for my impressions about his vanity. I would've put Lewis on the cover for this. I suspect he's the sort to totally forget our previous interactions now that he's achieved some real fame, unless that martial factor weighs in. We'll see.
