The Woman in White
We got two eps in last night. It's based on a novel from 1859 considered to be one of the first in the mystery genre. This BBC version has been engaging so far - nice period costumes and settings. The Cumberland manor is ornate, but I keep thinking of the Cumberland Blues.
One of the lead actresses was in Roadkill. She has a duel role as a woman forced into marriage and an escapee from an insane asylum.
Apparently this story has been depicted many times but we're unfamiliar with it. It has a gothic horror feel so far. Only 5 eps so we'll see it through.
But today is Sunday so there's fresh eps of All Creatures & Miss Scarlet, plus a new one about JA slaves.
