Yep. I have watched it. It is odd to say the least. The CGI dog, Buck always takes me out of the film when I see him. And since he is the focus of the entire film.....
It does have an Expanse factor of 1 because Cara Gee has a role in the film. She plays one half of a the team of postal workers.
I also wanted to see how Mumbles, Harrison Ford does. He narrates the film so that might have been a poor choice. But he was more distinct than he's been in recent outings.
I had never read the book or seen a film adaptation of The Call of the Wild so it was all new to me. And from what I saw there's not much story there. Dog goes to the gold fields during the gold rush and has adventures. At some point Buck meets up with Harrison who mourns the loss of his son. They team up and head into the wilderness. Their team up is the slowest part of the film. They anthropomorphise the dog a lot so it helps he's CGI.
It's not very good. It's not very well done. It's not recommended. Unless you are a Cara Gee completist.
Big flop at the Box Office.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
