The Postcard Killings (2020)
#1
A serial killer leaves young couples' bodies mutilated and posed as works of art in major cities near the galleries where the art is housed. The killer sends cryptic postcards to news outlets just prior to the murders. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a detective who's daughter is one of the victims, and he's a cop so he's in hot pursuit. But he's an NYPD cop, and doesn't play by the euro cop rules. His ex-wife is Famke Janssen, who has her own shrewd investigative methods. Also on the trail is a journalist, who's covertly writing a story on Morgan, played by Cush Jumbo (extra points for two The Good Wife stars).

It was a bit of alright. A decent euro thriller, reasonably credible, with a few nice twists (the main one I saw coming just before the reveal). The father losing his daughter part worked for me. It's based on a book. There's still a nagging plot hole regarding the alibi but I'll let that slide.

No sword fights. Recommended for DOOMers who like Euro thrillers, or just want something fresh.
