You and Dr. Yeti are right about the villain.  I remember when Siskel and Ebert (or was it Ebert and Roper) paid tribute to villains in one of their episodes, pointing how a great villain is so important to making a good movie truly great.

I neglected to note the villain in this, because, well, he was so villainously villainous that I was anxious to quickly rid him from my idyllic mind.  He surprised me in just how abominably villainousl he could be.
