We watched Goodbye Christopher Robin (2017), which I thought was this film, but no, it's a completely different film, a historical fiction based on Milne and his son, the real Christopher Robin, starring Margot Robbie as Mrs. Milne, and the cutest kid ever as Christopher. At first, I was like dang, Milne has trouble writing but he's living in the gorgeous 110 acre wood, has the cutest kid ever with an awesome nanny (HP factor 1 for Rowena Ravenclaw) and Margot as a wife? All that and he's got writer's block? Oh give me a feckin break! But it turns out to be a decent film, a bit clunky as it slogs thru the perfunctory 'this is how Pooh was made up' but then ultimately delivers on the backstory and Margot shows that she's more than a pretty face once again delivering a notably English performance. Christopher Robin fell down the stairs. Nobody cares. Nobody cares. No blubbing.
