Ep 2 and we're still solid. Decently developed characters considering the story - I'm finding the triad depiction, especially the snakehead, well fleshed out. The shots of SF are beautiful and given all the crappy (literally) press SF has gotten lately, it's a long overdue love letter. Most of all, the action is on point. Now some of the other characters are showing off their skills, especially the women. Tasty ultravi, some complex single-shot sequences, reminiscent of Parabellum. My bro Lewis Tan is really good in this - he plays a prick and he nails pricks. But really, it hinges heavily on Iko and he just keeps delivering, not just with his action but with his acting.
The weak spot so far has been Celia Jade - the mystical sequences have cheesey mediocre effects and she just feels weak - however there's now fights in the mystical zone, which redeems everything.
By this ep, the Wu Assassin world is pretty much built and it can launch into the ultravi.
Loving the show. One more preview ep. Gonna peep that next.
I really really want a Kung Foodie T-shirt.
