Well, I did give a kid a good scratch on the arm in his first epee lesson last week, but that is not the same as beating the crap out of him. Pretty weak, in fact. I wonder if that sifu said anything helpful before or after he beat on those students, of if it was just the same old "you disgust me!" WHACK! sort of thing.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
