Woah. Corrupt Irish cops face off against Chinese Tong men. This totally describes how Greg and I would relate if it was the 19 century.
Emilio hadn't watched it yet but he found a free link on sitonmyfacebook - https://www.facebook.com/cinemax/videos/...1421369897 - He may be watching it right now.
Much as we predicted (by we, I mean me and Daniel Wu - off the record) it's full of Chinatown stereotypes - I guess my heritage is all peasants, tong men and whores. The martial arts is mediocre and that Tai Chi at the end is just winceable. Glad Greg tipped me off on the skinemax bit. Amused to see nekkid Olivia Cheng again (she was much better nekkid in Marco Polo) I found it oddly derivative of Badlands with its music and opening credits, some echoes of style, except this was all muddy colors and stereotypes and Badlands was super colorful and diverse without its diversity being any issue at all. I'll tune back in to Warrior for the inevitable chase scene through the lion dance because what show based in Chinatown doesn't have that? I'm annoyed that this already is greenlit for Season 2 while Badlands is cancelled and Man at Arms is in limbo.
