Today, I bid the painters farewell. They've been here on and off for two weeks. They missed a couple of days for rain. They must love the fact I keep bringing them additional things to paint. Yesterday, I had them paint an additional back door. Our current back door has water damage and a dog door in it. When I leave, I'll put the non-damaged, non-dogdoor in. Probably the worst thing our painters did was paint the Mezzuzah we had on the front door jam. We bought it on our honeymoon in Israel and holds the shards from the glass I broke during our wedding ceremony. It's now a bright blue on top that matches the house trim color and white over the glass tube that holds the glass shards.
In WTF news, our cleaning lady came in to scrub the place for the photographer who comes on Saturday to film the Real Estate Shots. Alex, the cleaner, told us she had cleaned a neighbors house which is also up for sale. She liked our home better. Then she proceeded to destroy it.
We have new laminate floors. She thought they were actual wood. She used wood cleaning products on them, specifically Murphy's Oil Soap. Now, we were delighted that the floors look like actual wood. But after she cleaned them, we had streaks everywhere on the floor. I mentioned it to The Queen and Alex. She tried to clean them again. I decided to check the packaging (we have a few boxes left over) to see what they recommend. Well what they don't recommend is using oil cleaners of any kind, oil cleaners like Murphy's. Basically, we have oil residue on every square inch of the new floor. Alex is thorough.
I bought the proper cleaning tools to redo the floors on Monday. Alex did text us to say she wouldn't to come back and make the floors right at no charge.
Our realtor is popping in today to check on us and to see if the house is ready for pictures. It's not. We still have a lot of crap floating around. No matter what we do there is crap in the house.
