One footnote I wanted to mention.
Before meeting KB, DM and I had a beer at Strike's Brewing . I had never been there before (never really even heard of 'em). I paid cash for one round and did not sign their guest book or anything.
The next day I received 'Welcome to Strike'es' email and continue to receive occasional promotional emails.
I did plug them into my Google GPS by name because they were kind of hard to find.
I actually think it's cool that Google appears to be concerned about me and wants to make sure I stay in contact with the places I visit.
They know where I go and what I do. Always.
