It turns out I was not watching the Super Extended Cut. I was just watching the theatrical release. There were two DVDs in the box.
To rectify that, the Queen and I watched DP2 again last night. The Queen was not in the best frame of mind the last time she saw the DVD.
It's longer. It seems like there was a bit to add to every scene. The fights especially were longer. Some of the jokes were better this time as they were developed more fully in other scenes. They changed the music in one scene and it wasn't as effective. Some of the jokes they swapped out were as funny. I especially missed the Scoutmaster Kevin line.
They did add more scenes of Russell at the orphanage and what led to his rampage.
On the whole, the added material didn't add significantly to the movie. But it was a good excuse to see DP2 again.
