You may well ask 'With all that's going on with DM, wtf is he going to this screener?" Well, it was an excuse to stop by Victory for some garlic noodles, Lagavulin and some head.  Heads!  I mean Tiger Fork Heads.  srsly.  It was for work, man.  There were no knickers involved except for a tiny bit of admiration for the AF knickers, as in Knickers AF, but those were just on display, not on any yetis with ball gags or anything.  I know you were thinking it.  yeti. knickers.  ball gag.  How can you not think that now? Well, making time for the DP2 screener, it all goes back to Dublin, to that fyne dinner I had with Emily Beecham and her cast mates.  Across the table was Lewis Tan, who befriended me as soon as he discovered who I was.  Yeah, that was kinda cool, but stop blocking me from Emily.  Anyway, we've kept up a correspondence since and he teased joining the MCU but couldn't tell me how because he was under NDA.  Eventually it came out that he was in this. So I got some interview material and it's sort of a done deal, so I figured I'd see the screener just for fun and I'm a huge fan of Morena (who is absolutely luminous in this film - like even more gorgeous than usual - otherworldly gorgeous). Well, the film is fun, funner than the first (actually I wasn't that into the first one but now I kinda know what to expect so the sequel worked better for me - and yes, 'funner' is a word because Bianca Bree (JCVD's daughter told me so).  There's a lot of jokes about lazy writing which tickled my funny bone in the funner way.  As for Lewis' role as Shatterstar (Marvel's first gay kiss) oh man.  Just wait until you see it.  Just wait.  He debuts on Into the Badlands this Sunday too, so I'm really excited for him.  But back to DP2, it's quite funny.  The MCU is now heavy into death.  Or is it?  I think I've learned to enjoy the MCU by not viewing them as action films anymore but as comedies.  That makes them so funner.  And yes, there are swordfights, nicely choreographed even if CGI enhanced, a real splatter of the good ol' ultravi.  It's David Leitch, after all.  So I endorse this film as DOOM worthy (although you should see the first one to make it make sense) noting my biased because of Lewis and that fact that I really needed an escape from it all.  

I'm telecommuting today and just realized that this is the first day I've spent at my bungalow in three weeks.  Three feckin weeks!  Grateful that it's a nice day here in the Cruz.
