I heard him talk at UCSC. It was packed and we weren't able to get inside. But they put speakers out in the field, along with a projection screen. We could hear his answers and his talk, but not the questions from the long Q&A period afterwards. I remember lying on the grassy field and staring up at the stars, on a crystal clear night, and listening to him talk about singularities and such. In all honestly, I could barely follow his lecture - it was way above my head.
