I enjoyed this, but it was not Mr. Gilliam's best work. It looked good, as do all his films, but I felt Matt Damon was miscast, and the other brother had a small part. The film changed moods abruptly, from comedy to horror. It sometimes seemed that he wasn't sure what kind of film he was making. That was in one way distracting, but in another it heightened the horror, so it was effective. There was also a bad CGI wolf - worse than stuff in Van Helsing. And the cartoonish Frenchmen added to a feeling the movie being fluff.
I enjoyed it, but he could have done more with it. Maybe he's off his game after the Don Quixote fiasco.
