I've been on a run of disappointing films, so I've been saving this one to renew my faith. Note that this is the K-flick about a dozen Korean ships fighting off 300 Japanese ships, not the new Dutch one with Rutger Hauer. It's glorious, sanguinous, real horrorshow ultravi. Hardcore Armor porn. A broken admiral must rally some beaten ships to fight against samurai, ninjas and pirates. He has doubtful captains, fearful sailors, weak villagers and some kickass Buddhist monks. Nearly an hour of set up, followed by an hour of monster sea battles. Spectacular violence. Lots of decapitations, cannon fire, archers, ship ramming, explosions and sword fights. Very satisfying ship deck melees.

Highly recommended for DOOM.
