The film didn't inspire me to read it however. Did the book ever offer any explanation in the end? The movie just leaves it all hanging, but that was okay. I think what sold the film for me was Harry as I am fond of him in that Dumbledore sort of way (I know, that sounds bad) and the lush Seattle scenery. And it was parsed with some humorous moments.
