As Duckie Glynch revealed, dm's once-beautiful bod is scarred with mite bites from some nasty parasites he picked up and brought home from an L.A. hotel. It sent dm on one of those medical journeys. The bites were brutal, incessantly itchy, and left scars all across dm, making his bod look like a constellation map. He was worried at the excessiveness of the bites, went to the Dr., and after confirming that they were indeed mite bites (or as Letterman sez 'chigger bites' - yeah, Letterman - remember him?), dm was sent home with some antihistamine PLUS blood pressure meds (isonopril). The BP meds caused horrible coughing which kept dm from sleeping the night through. Eventually, he was switched to the beta blocker and diuretic tenoretic, which he now takes daily.
So last weekend, there were some friends in town, so the dm clan hit the beach and boardwalk as tourist guides. Dm thought some tanning would be nice in order to slough off some of the mite bite scars. Funny thing about tenoretic. In the fine print, it warns users against photo-sensitivity. When exposed to excess sun, it causes a horrible rash. Once again, dm is covered with itchy sores, nasty welts concentrated in dm's bodily crevices - armpits and groin - embarrassing places to be itchy. Oh bother. There's some remaining antihistamine from the last time, but it's a night-time dose because it's a K.O. rx. Will probably dig into that tonight. Meanwhile, it's topical benedryl.
All that scratchin is makin me itch.
