Ok, so if you know anime and manga, you know Sailor Moon. I don't really know those genres very well at all, only in the most cursory manner, so I knew of Sailor Moon, but not really that much about it. It always seemed so harajuku/kogal to me. But it is venerated as one of the classics of anime. Anyway, they are launching a new Sailor Moon Crystal this summer for some sort of anniversary, so the series is being made available on Hulu+. T and I were going to watch Rabbids or something and I saw it highlighted and mentioned it to T. We watched it. It was one of those things that I should have previewed, not because it's pornographic or anything (although it does have it's awkward titillating moments), but because it's highly addictive. T is totally hooked. Dm confesses he'll watch it with her if he doesn't have to do dishes or take out the garbage or some other chore. It's oddly entertaining. Sailor Moon is a vapid superhero and that has it's comic moments. But this is opening Pandora's Box, because it's a genre on to its own - five series and some movies - it's a major commitment to watch all of this. T is up for it. I'll watch some. Not willingly. It's not like I like it or anything. There aren't enough swordfights.
First Barbie movies, then Glee, now Sailor Moon. Oh what new purgatory is this?
