I bought the CD on sale at Target. I know, I know, who buys CDs anymore? I do. I'd spin vinyl if it would play in my car. I'm retro that way. Heck, I still practice with swords, so there you have it.
I love the CD. It hasn't left my car player, except for T to rip it to her MP3 player. It's got a richly textured sound and Lorde's lyrical tricks continue to amuse. It is so refreshing to hear a pop starlet sing about something other than partying, sex, drugs and break-ups.
I've solved the mystery of Lorde's age. She's an elf. Elf years are kind of the opposite of dog years, so when she says she's 16, that's in elf years and it means like 160 in human reckoning. She's from NZ. Isn't that where they filmed the Hobbit? Mystery solved.
