That was a metaphor for brain structure back when I was a psych student. I remember understanding the theory behind holographic brains back when I was in Grad school. Now I can't remember how that all went - it was quantum and Gestalt theory with fractals. It was a cool train of thought - something to do with the fact that any piece of a hologram contains the entire hologram. Too bad this forum doesn't go back that far.
