Okay, I think I followed most of this.
Just need one little clarification.
Was it in the short WWII or the long WWII alternate universe that Christopher Priest said that no one deserved to win this year's Arthur C. Clarke award?
And by the way, are we talking about Arthur C. Clarke the science fiction writer or his twin brother Arthur C. Clarke who invented the kick-stand for bicycles, and who gives a yearly award to the person who best exemplifies a kick-stand in the movies?
P.S. Haven't read any Christopher Priest. I should probably give him a try....
