This is Campion's love poem to Keats. It's a historic English romance, replete with top hats, flowery English countrysides in bloom, wood-paneled studies, scones and star-crossed lovers devided by social hierarchies, predictable in it's story arc, yet sophisticated in execution. Cue Jane Austen. But it's Campion, who has a magnificent eye for detail so every scene is gorgeuosly atmospheric. She showcases Abbie Cornish in loving, sumptious detail, and Abbie delivers in an Oscar-worthy performance in return. Indeed, if Keats were writing me love letters, I'd "fall and swell" as surely as Fanny. This is a beautiful film, assuming you like historic English romances that are completely devoid of fight scenes, lazerguns, vampires, zombies, aliens or bladed weapons.

Hmm. Why did I enjoy this film, again? :?
